William A. Riese

William Adam Riese, 89, of Massillon, passed away on January 29, 2026 at Aultman Hospital.

He was born on August 30, 1936 to the late William and Norma (Wieck) Riese in Massillon, OH.

A graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1954, Bill was a veteran of The United States Army. He retired from MCA Sign Company in 1998. He liked to plant flowers, garden, golf, trivia, travel to casino's, and was an "Excellent" Volleyball player. An accomplished painter, Bill loved to paint farm settings. He was a dedicated family man. Bill loved family reunions and family events. He was a member of The Sons and Daughters of Herman, American Legion, Post 221, and The Ohio Archeological Society. Bill especially loved to hunt arrow heads and had a large collection.

William is survived by his loving wife, Carol (LaPorte) Riese ; sons, Rick Riese and Michael (Angela) Riese; grandchildren, Adam Riese and Sara Riese; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Creighton; brothers, Richard Riese and John (Callie) Riese; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, James P. Riese andWilliam K. Riese; siblings, James Riese, Kathy Garretson, and Mary Ann Beers.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, February 5th, 2026 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, Ohio.

A private burial will take place at Brookfield Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
