William “Bill” Brown, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2026. Bill was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, remembered for his strong work ethic, love of family, and the many simple joys that filled his life.
Bill graduated from Washington High School in 1959 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career, working 34 years at The Timken Company and later retiring from Detroit Diesel after 20 years.
Bill had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished time spent fishing and camping at Tappan Lake. He also enjoyed golfing and traveling with his family. A passionate supporter of his community, Bill was a longtime fan of Massillon Tiger Football and took great pride in watching his grandchildren participate in the Tiger Swing Band, Massillon Cheer, and dance competitions. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his daughters, Carmella (Bernie) Binder, Suzi Brown (Craig Bailey), and Valerie (Donny) Reiter; his grandchildren, Jake, Cole, and Kloey Reiter, Camden Bailey, and Nicholas Binder; his sister-in-law, Madeline Brown; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryle; his brother, Joal Brown; his parents, John and Grace Brown; and his beloved fur companions, Spike, Buster, Oliver, and his little sweetheart Gabby, who held a special place in his heart.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers from Mercy Hospice, especially nurses Nicole, Julie, Colton, Adreanna, and his aide Tina H., for their kindness and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Chance for Animals in Bill’s name. (P.O. Box 35706, Canton, OH 44735)
Honoring Bill’s wishes, there will be no services.
Bill will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, not crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
