Wanda "Gert" Adams

Wanda "Gert" L. Adams, 88, of Navarre, Ohio, passed away October 1, 2026. She was born on July 3, 1938, in West Virginia, to the late Burl and Stella (White) Simmons.

Wanda had many jobs, but spent the majority of her career as the store keeper for Indian River Correctional School where she worked for 40 years. She loved spending a sunny day sitting on her deck, with a cup of coffee in hand and admiring her flowers. On other days, she enjoyed watching her soaps in her comfy chair. Wanda loved family vacations and traveling, whether that be with her sisters or her children, those were some of her fondest memories. She enjoyed antiquing, and making some of her famous recipes- specifically her fudge and deviled eggs. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, lovingly called "Grandma Fudgey" and "GG".

She will be remembered for her spunky personality, and her tender heart. Wanda spent her time thinking of others, finding ways to make the people she loved happy. Togetherness and kindness were important to her. She was a loving mother, loving grandmother, and good friend to many.

In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sue Adams; grandson, Kolten Miller; and her brothers, Marvin, Paul, and Eddie "Doc" Simmons.

Wanda is survived by her children, Ezzie (Kurt) Miller and Tim (Marg) Adams; grandchildren, Brooke Adams, Dustin (Amy) Adams, Braedy (Cole) McCurry and Sarah (Dan) Yungen; great-grandchildren, Cash and Colt Adams, Bennett and Reed McCurry, and Steel and Brinley Yungen; sisters, Glenna Moyers and Nyla "Sue" Alfather; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Wanda's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
