Walter J Maybee

Walter J. Maybee, 93, of Massillon, OH, passed away July 25, 2026.

Walter was born on December 21, 1932, in Dover, OH to the late Walter J. and Edna I. Maybee, and was raised in Boliver, OH.

Walter was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. In 1952, he married the love of his life, the late Janice J. Maybee (passed September 4, 2003). In 1984, Walter retired as a Supervisor at Republic Steel after 33 years of employment.

Walter is survived by his children: Sharon Kirby (Terry) of Massillon, Dennis Maybee (Barb) of Perry TWP., and Alan Maybee (Mischelle) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Josh, Ashley, Danielle, and Jessica; great grandchildren Kailey, Mason, Kennedy, Kaiden, Matthew, and Austin. Walter will also be missed by special friend, Cynthia Browder.

In addition to his parents, and his wife Janice of 51 years, he is preceded in death by his siblings Arlene Edwards, Dorothy Horn, and George Moser.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday, July 31, 2026, 1:00 PM, at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 4646. Visitation will be held 30 minutes PRIOR to the service, from 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM. Burial with military honors to follow in East Avenue Cemetery of New Philadelphia. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and compassion provided by SouthernCare Hospice, and suggest memorials be made to them in Walter’s honor.
