Tiona Sarah Kay Phillips, age 33, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2025. Born and raised in Massillon, Tiona was a radiant soul whose presence lit up every room. She was known for her enormous, giving heart and her unwavering willingness to help others—no matter the time, place, or circumstance.
Fiercely loyal and lovingly feisty, Tiona loved deeply and lived passionately. As a devoted mother, she cherished her daughters, Kayona and Elissa, and her son, Sintana, who will always remember and honor Baby Angel. Her children were the light of her life, and she dedicated herself to being a guiding force as they navigated their own paths. Her love for them was boundless and unwavering.
Tiona is survived by her loving parents, Jennifer Cooper and Gregory Phillips, who nurtured her strength and spirit. She found camaraderie and unconditional love among her siblings: Malek (Mariah) Pope, Brennen Coyne, Rashawn Phillips, Gregory Phillips, Treshaun Green, Angelo Domenico, and Larry Phillips. Each sibling shared a unique bond with Tiona through laughter, late-night talks, and standing together through life’s challenges.
She was a beloved granddaughter to Debbie "Memaw" and Roger "Pappy" Lamp and Jeanette "Nana" Turner, whose wisdom and warmth helped shape her compassionate nature. Her Aunt Sissy "Shelilah" Turner and Great Aunt Shelilah were pillars of support and love throughout her life.
Tiona’s extended family includes cherished uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who were more like family. She was the kind of person who remembered birthdays, showed up when it mattered, and made everyone feel seen and valued. Her hugs were healing, and her laughter was unforgettable.
Her compassion touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her. Whether lending a hand, sharing a laugh, or standing up for what she believed in, Tiona made sure her love was felt and her voice was heard.
She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
“Her laughter, her love, and her spirit will live on—our Sunshine, now shining eternally.”
The family will privately host a celebration of life at a later date.
