Listen to Obituary

Susan Mari Drobney, 70, of Canton, passed away on December 31, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center. She left this world far too soon, but not without leaving behind a lifetime of unforgettable memories, laughter, and love.

Born on May 30, 1955, in Canton, Ohio, to the late John and Angeline (DiMario) Drozda, Susan lived her life exactly how she wanted—boldly, honestly, and always on her own terms. A graduate of Glenwood High School, she retired from Anthem Blue Cross in 2024 after many years of dedicated work.

Susan was a loving mother, an incredible grandmother, and a loyal friend. She had a quick wit, a sharp tongue, and a heart that was even bigger than her personality. She adored her children and grandchildren and never missed a chance to cheer them on, whether it was from the sidelines of a game or the stands of a stadium. A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, she especially loved attending Browns games with her son, time she truly cherished.

She loved boating on Lake Cable with her daughters, spending long summer days at the beach with family and friends, traveling, hunting for treasures at flea markets, and entertaining—especially during the holidays. Christmas Eve at Sue’s house was legendary, known for an incredible spread of food, games that brought everyone together, and nights filled with laughter and memories that will live on forever. Her parties were extraordinary—just like her.

Susan shared a special bond with her ex-husband, Al, though not married they remained close, continuing to talk often and spend meaningful time together—a testament to the deep connection and friendship they maintained. She also had a special love for her grandpug, Buddha, who held a very special place in her heart. At home, she found comfort and companionship in her beloved kitten, Archie. He was her whole world.

Susan is survived by her children, Tracey (Donald II) Hill, Tarah L. Bible, and Scott E. (Melissa) Diehl; her grandchildren, Livia Bible, Adyson Diehl, Ashley Hill, Ava Bible, Gianna Bible, Jacob Hill, and Alexia Markley; her siblings, John Drozda, Larry Drozda, and Kathy Oswald; her ex-husband, Albert Drobney; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were lucky enough to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Krebs.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon.

Susan will be remembered for her humor, her honesty, her fierce love for her family, and the way she made every gathering better just by being there. If you were lucky enough to be loved by Sue, you knew it—and you never forgot it.
