Shirley A. Cornell

Shirley A. Cornell age 77 of Massillon went to be with the Lord, Saturday August 4, 2007, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born August 2, 1930 in Glitzen, PA to the late George & Clare (Gelbke) Slusser. Her family moved to Massillon in 1942 and she was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School. She was a homemaker. She loved cooking and being with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great grandson, Christian; brother, Gerald and two sisters, Lillian and Jane. She will be missed by her husband, George with whom she shared 42 years of marriage; two daughters son in law, Pamela (Caples) Porrini and Susan & Tom (Caples) Barker; grandchildren, Tottie, Christian, Seth, Matthew Porrini and Emily, Lisa and Evan Barker; and great grandchildren, Michael, Jared, Corey, Chase, Grace and Vincent. A Memorial Service will be 7 PM Wednesday August 8, 2007 at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, Rev. Robert Groenke & Fr. Raymond Paul will co-officiate.
