Sharon Layne - Miller

Sharon Layne-Miller, 72, of Massillon, passed away on September 10, 2025, at her stepdaughter’s residence. She was born on February 24, 1953, to Wendell and Catherine (Hyman) Adams in Ft Wayne, IN. Sharon retired as a K9 Handler and K9 Trainer for the Massillon Police Department. She also held other security officer positions throughout her career.

In 1989, she married Samuel A. Miller II and lived in Massillon, Ohio area. She was a member of AKC Kennel Club, Agathon Kennel Club. Sharon had great love for canines and volunteering for various animal shelters in Stark County. Another passion that Sharon had was watercolor artwork and painting and her favorite color was any shade of purple. She loved all of the family gatherings at the holidays, celebrations, and dinners. 

Sharon survives by her loving sisters; Linda Allard, Elizabeth Coburn, Leslie Adams, stepdaughter Tricia (Samuel McBeth) Mares, stepson; Samuel Miller III, nephew; Jesse (Jill) Allard, and niece; Lindsay (Matt) Allen, grandnephew; Jude Allen, and grandniece; Evelyn Allen, and cousin; Britt (EnSoon) Messman, and step grandchildren; Maddy Mares, Kinzly Porter, Kingston Porter, and Khloe Neary. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; Samuel A. Miller II, mother; Catherine D. Coburn, father; Wendell P Adams, sister; Lisa Coburn, and stepdaughter; Tracie Miller. 

Visitation will be held, Saturday 9/27/25 at 11:00am – 12:00pm, at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd., NE, Massillon, Ohio. 

Funeral services will be held on, Saturday 9/27/25 at 12:00pm - 1:00pm at Paquelet Arnold-Lynch Funereal Home, with Life Celebrant Kevin Obrien officiating.
