Sandra Ruby Shawnon Abbott

Sandra Ruby Shawnon Abbott, “Randy Jo”, 55, of Dalton, OH, passed away May 27, 2025.

Randy Jo was born on July 3,1969, in Massillon, OH at Doctor’s Hospital to Gary and Rosalie Abbott.

She enjoyed rock music, specifically Elvis Presley. Randy Jo was also known for loving any and all animals; she loved riding horses and shared an incredibly close bond with her long-time furry companion, her cat, Blackie. Above all, Randy Jo loved spending time with her family and dearly adored her nieces and nephews. She often would go on “sibling vacations”, each time to somewhere different. Randy Jo was very proud of her Native American heritage, which was both Cheyenne and Cherokee from each side of her family.

In addition to her parents, Randy Jo is survived by her siblings, Amanda Milliken (William), Joy Calel (Ernesto), Jason Evans and Timothy Mallett; her Aunt Deloris Curtiss (Edward, deceased), who was like a second mother to her; a host of nieces and nephews and of course, her loving cat, Blackie.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Ruby Miller, Ralph Abbott, Stella and Buck Tanner.

A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, June 9th, 2025, in Brookfield Cemetery, of Massillon, OH, at 11:00AM, with Pastor Chuck George officiating. The procession to the cemetery will leave the Paquelet Funeral Home at 10:30AM. The family kindly requests everyone who will be in attendance for the graveside service, to please bring an angel figurine of your choosing, which will be left for Randy Jo.
