Samuel G. Turner

Samuel G. Turner Sr. passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024. Sam was born on October 19, 1934, in Frametown, West Virginia to the late Harvey and Lakey Turner. He met Ruth Dilley in Sutton, West Virginia and was married November 5,1956. They moved to Massillon, Ohio and Sam worked in various garages till he opened Turner’s Transmission which he operated with his three sons.

He enjoyed playing and coaching baseball, then moved onto bowling, camping, fishing, and hunting.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and granddaughter Meghan Turner.

Sam is survived by his children, Kathryn Wohlwend, Kim Turner, Sam (Lisa) Turner, Mark (Sherry) Turner and Mitchell Turner; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
