Salvatore Sam R. Apollonio

Salvatore (Sam) R. Apollonio, age 81, of Massillon passed away Thursday evening at the Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Altoona, PA to the late Joseph & Rosalina (Santa Cruce) Apollonio on April 16, 1924. He moved to Akron with his parents when he was a child. He met & married Gertrude (Bradley) Apollonio in 1943. Sam worked at Massey Ferguson as a welder which is where he retired. After his retirement he began working for the City of Fairlawn in the service department. He enjoyed fishing & playing cards with his buddies. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gertrude, one brother Frank & his sister Nina. Survived by Daughter Candace Adamo of Massillon Sister Angela & Paul Patris of Akron Brother James Apollonio of Akron two Grandchildren Dawn Marie & Guy Kotch of Cuyahoga Falls Jennifer Moser of Texas five Great Grandchildren Niece Pamela & Walt Pazura of Akron Great niece Angela Saniat of Akron And many other nieces & nephews There will be a memorial service held on Sunday at 4 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
