Ruth Powell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated caretaker, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on April 24, 1933, Ruth grew up with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for her family and friends. She graduated from Doddridge County High School in the class of 1951, laying a strong foundation that she would carry throughout her life.

Ruth spent many years of her career assisting at Meadow Winds Nursing Home. Her passion for caring for others was evident in her tireless dedication to her work and the warmth she extended to those she served. She brought kindness and compassion to every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many.

In her personal life, Ruth was the loving wife of Harry Powell, with whom she shared 64 beautiful years of marriage until his passing. Together, they created a legacy of love and support, which is continued through their children and grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her son, Alva (Cheryl) Powell; her daughter, Susan (James) Kaser; and her cherished grandchildren: Travis Powell, Daniel Powell, Gina (Bob) Tomczak, and Tammy Kaser.

Ruth also holds a place in the hearts of her loved ones who have passed, including her mother, Mary V. Brissey; her father, Alva G. Brissey; and her granddaughter, Kelly Powell-Pisarski. 

Through both her joyous memories and her enduring spirit, Ruth will forever be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to those around her. As we celebrate her life, we honor the legacy of kindness and compassion she has left behind, inspiring all who knew her.
