Roger Fricke

Roger Fricke, 87, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away June 16, 2025. He was born on January 7, 1938 to the late Ralph Otis and Gladys Marie Fricke.

Roger was a 1956 graduate of Canal Fulton High School. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in the Division 4 infantry where he played baritone in the band. He was stationed in Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs. Roger was proud to have marched in many parades and play in many concerts. A highlight for Roger was marching across the Royal Gorge Suspension Bridge. After his time in the military, Roger worked for the Eaton Corporation in Massillon for 40 years. Upon retirement, he volunteered 10 years for Doctor's Hospital and 16 years at MCC Connections Thrift Shop in Kidron. He loved traveling with his wife Judy, on bus trips all over the country. Roger also enjoyed sports, concerts, gardening, and trips to Amish Country where he could enjoy some good food. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he was a part of the Celebration of Life committee, a greeter, and was a faithful driver for people within the church.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Judith Fricke; son, Steve (Barb) Fricke; granddaughter, Olivia Fricke; exchange son, Kees Verschoor, from the Netherlands; siblings, Kenneth (Nancy) Fricke, Marion (Judy) Fricke, and Eileen (Jack) Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sprenger Rose Lane Health Care (5425 High Mill Ave NW Massillon, OH 44646), for their kindness and care for Roger. They would also like to thank the VA caretakers and the Home Instead caretakers.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home (1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, Ohio). Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery.
