Roger Arthur Christ

Roger A. Christ, 76, former Assistant General Counsel of Nationwide Insurance Company of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Born in Bufffalo, he was a graduate of Bishop Turner High School, Saint Joseph's College of Rensselear, Indiana, and Ohio Northern University, Claude Pettit School of Law.

After earning his B.A. degree in English - Philosophy, he entered the U.S. Army and served two years in the Army Security Agency. Afterwards, he served three years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Roger worked for the General Adjustment Bureau as an outside adjuster, rising to Branch Manager. He then attended law school and upon graduation joined Nationwide Insurance Company.

Roger enjoyed golf, gardening, and personal finance. He was a parishioner at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Barbara's and served on the stewardship and finance committees. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus, the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, and the Stark County Bar Association.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Carloni) Christ; sons, Jeffrey (Edith) and Douglas (Sara Danner) Christ; two brothers, James (Sandy) and Gerard; nieces and nephews, Tanya Christ, Tom (Amy) Carloni, David Carloni, and Brandon Christ. He is also survived by great-nieces and great-nephew; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace (Hohman) Christ and brother, Paul Christ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Thomas Cebula on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 11:00 am at the Divine Mercy Parish , St. Barbara.

Inurnmet will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
