Robert Alexander Maurer, 37, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2025.
He was born on June 26, 1988 in Canton, OH.
A 2006 graduate of Fairless High School and R.G. Drage Vocational School for Auto Mechanics. Alex enlisted in the Airforce working as an AGE Airman, serving 6 years. He had tours of duty in Korea, the Azores and was deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Honorably discharged in 2012, he then came home to Navarre and attended Stark State College and obtained an Associate of Science Education Degree. He worked as a Finance Sales Manager for Serra Auto Group. Alex was the current Commander of V.F.W Post 5047, Navarre for the past 2 years. Alex started working at the post at the age of 15. He was a bus boy and grew up around all of the local veterans for which he had a deep respect. Alex enjoyed serving and giving back to the community or anyone in need. He loved listening and playing music on several of his guitars. He loved sports of all kinds, especially Ohio State Football. He spent summers on the Fairways, known for being the big Hitter. He loved riding dirt bikes since he was a boy and also had the kids riding. One of his favorite past times was teaching them how to throw the perfect pass, shoot the ball, or building the perfect Igloo, all while firing off endless dad jokes. It was like playing at comedy central. Alex had a deep love for his wife, kids and the many special friends he had met through the years. Alex never met a stranger. He was witty and funny and lit up any room he entered. Alex will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Alex is survived by his parents, Johnna (Griffin) and Gary Shepherd; loving wife, Tiffany (Howard) Maurer; children, Khya G. Maurer, Willa S. Maurer, and Braxton J. Seich; siblings, Luke, Savanna, Kyle, and Taylor; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
