Robert “Bob” Hahn, 88, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2026.
Bob was born on October 31, 1937, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to the late Donald and Sylvia (Rybak) Hahn. He was a proud Navy veteran and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after a long and dedicated career.
Bob’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who treasured every moment spent with those he loved. He was also known as the neighborhood Dad. Bob was the person everyone knew they could count on. He watched over the neighborhood children, fed them, fixed whatever needed fixing, and willingly shared his knowledge and expertise with anyone who needed a helping hand.
Bob will be remembered for his generous heart, his willingness to help, his remarkable ability to fix almost anything, his love of music, his sense of humor, and, most of all, the way he made people feel cared for. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor, friend, and a steady presence in so many lives.
His family and the many people whose lives he touched will miss him dearly. Bob leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, helping hands, and memories that will be carried on for generations.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Madalyn (Esway) Hahn, children, Debby (Larry) Rosati, Lori (Mike McLaughlin) Guest, Linda (Mark) Zaveson and Lorna (Sam) Lindsley; loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Brown and Donna Hatcher.
A private inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
