In Loving Memory of Richard Lee Rose

Richard Lee Rose, 70, of Canton, Ohio passed away on November 6, 2025. Born on August 16, 1955, he was the eldest son of the late Kathleen Virginia Mercer Rose and Hartzell Lee Rose.

Richard loved spending time with others. He led a Bible study in his youth and enjoyed participating in church activities such as winter camping with the Polar Bears, hiking, and canoeing. He carried his love of the outdoors throughout life; riding motorcycles, camping and spending time in the pool with his family; teaching his grandchildren to cook over fire and to swim.

Richard was a graduate of the Jewett-Scio class of 1973. As a young adult, he participated in the first EMT pilot program in Ohio and served his community as a volunteer firefighter and Advanced EMT in Scio and Perry Township.

Richard was a jack of all trades, and loved working on cars, doing projects around the house, and teaching others. He was always the first to offer help and to be available when something needed fixed. He loved telling stories, possessing a gift for turning ordinary moments into remembered adventures. Richard never met a stranger, which led to successful career in sales and management, where he spent time traveling and building many friendships before retiring to spend more time with family. His family carries forward endless memories of cooking, traveling, talking, and spending time with relatives.

Richard is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart, Patricia Anne (English) Rose (whom he has loved & was married to for 47 years), his brothers Steve (Tammy) Rose and William Rose, and by his children and grandchildren: • Susan (Robb) Lenigar — Carter and Connor • Stacy Hudia — Samuel and Jacy • Richard (Amber) Rose II — Riley, Rorey, Payton, Richard III and Parker • Rachael (Derek) Mason — Elijah, Emory, Ewan, Elora and Eden • Kimberly (Brent) Vigil — Hudson and Quinn.
