Richard G. Lindower (affectionately known as Dicky), age 82, of Canton, passed away on the evening of June 14th, at Aultman Woodlawn, following a courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born in Canton, Ohio, on March 16th, 1943 to Ralph and Lois {Godar} Lindower. After high school, Richard served in the United States Air Force and later retired from The Timken Company after 31 years of dedicated service.
Richard found joy in the simple things: camping, bowling, and spending time with the people he loved. His presence brought comfort, his love was loud and strong.
He shared his life with his partner, Doris Thrasher. He is survived by his sons, Rick (Diane) Lindower and Ron (Shirley) Lindower; his grandchildren Michelle (Ashley) Lindower-Henderson, Steven (Brooke) Lindower, Kaitlyn Lindower, Bryce Lindower and Austin Lindower; numerous great-grandchildren; and his siblings Dave (Jody) Lindower, Alice Masci, and Randy (Ethel) Lindower.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carol, and his grandson Michael.
Per Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be planned for a later date. Details will be posted here once finalized.
In his memory, take a moment to enjoy the outdoors, knock down a few pins, or sit quietly with someone you love- just as he would have done.
He was deeply loved.
He will be deeply missed.
And he will be remembered- always.
