Patricia Sue “Patty” Dalsky, 69, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15 at Meadow Wind Healthcare Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Patty was born on June 20, 1957, in Canton, Ohio, to Raymond and Elizabeth Preusser. She attended St. Michael’s School and Glenwood High School, graduating in 1975. She took classes at the University of Akron and worked as the fastest, friendliest cashier at A&D Foodarama and later, Piggly Wiggly. Patty also worked at Stark State Community College for many years in the bookstore.
Patty spent her time helping and supporting people. She attended Massillon Tiger football games to watch her son, Paul, play in the Tiger Swing Band. She frequently baked cookies for the band and was known by members as Mama Dalsky. She was also actively involved at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon, leading the Mother Teresa Guild funeral luncheon group and helping with the annual Candlelight Walk.
Patty had a delightful laugh, funny personality, and generous spirit. Whether delivering meals via a Meals On Wheels route, distributing Thanksgiving food at the Salvation Army, or serving dinner at the Refuge of Hope Ministries, Patty demonstrated that helping people was always the right choice.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Elizabeth Preusser and sisters Barbara Preusser and Nancy Preusser. She is survived by her husband Richard Dalsky (married 48 years), son Paul Dalsky, daughter-in-law Rachel Dalsky, grandchildren Samuel and Maxwell Dalsky, sisters Linda Olinger (Ken), Mary Jo Sloboda (Joe), Jean Maguire (Rob), and Donna Preusser (Steve), and brothers Mark Preusser (Carol), Jeff Preusser (Barb), and Chuck Preusser (Cathy).
Visitation will be held at Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 9:30am to 10:30am (1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646). A funeral mass will follow, beginning at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Refuge of Hope Ministries or the Elara Caring Hospice Foundation.
