Patricia Griffiths, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 14th at the age of 78. She was born Christmas Day, 1946, to the late Jack and Teresa (McDonald) Griffiths.
Patti graduated from Massillon Washington High School, where she was a member of the marching band. She continued her education, graduating from Walsh University. She began and ended her career at St Mary School, dedicating 45 years of service shaping the minds of over 1000 children. She was one of the longest serving teachers at St Mary, and the Diocese. Patti played an integral role in preparing the youth for the sacrament of First Communion and organized the children's Mass on Christmas Eve for many years.
Patti loved being surrounded by and teaching children, and her love of dogs, especially Westies, oftentimes played a role in the classroom. She was an avid Notre Dame and Cleveland Browns football fan. One of her other passions was reading, displaying a large library of books in her home. She was of Scottish and Welsh decent, and very proud of her heritage.
Patti was proceeded in death by her parents, and her brother, John Micheal and adopted sister, Susan Bogovich Doran.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth, adopted sister, Michele Bogovich Forrer, nephews Brian, Kevin and David Forrer, and grandchildren Roslynn, Carter, Bennet and Dani.
Calling hours will be held Monday evening, November 24th, at Paquelet Funeral Home, from 6pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church in Massillon, on Tuesday, November 25th, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Stark County Chapter of the Humane Society.
