Niranjana "Niru" aka "Nina" Christian

Niranjana "Niru" aka "Nina" Christian, 83, of Massillon, passed away on July 12, 2026 at Allay Senior Care.

Nina was born on September 23, 1942 to the late Jethalal and Shanti (Girdhar) Zain.

She immigrated to the United States in 1983 with her husband Anil. She was a graduate of Law College, Ahmedabad, India. She worked as an English Teacher in India and then the family bought and ran Lincoln Motel for 30 plus years, selling the motel in 2004. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Massillon. Nina volunteered at church and Aultman Hospital. Nina was a fabulous cook, baker, and enjoyed entertaining people at her home. She loved to travel and visited her family in India frequently.

Nina is survived by her loving siblings, Dr. Juanius "Johnny" (Mariakutty) Zain, Leena (Niranjan) Turner, and Jolly (Maya) Zain; nieces, Teresa Z. (Randy) MacKim and Liza (Dr. Sonnel) Patrick; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in India.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anil Christian; and sisters, Manorama "Manu" Chauhan, Vinodine "Vinu" Chauhan, and Neelam "Nilu" Desai; and niece, Mili Dabhi.

Visitation will be held July 24, 2026 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm with funeral services will start at 1:30 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. David Oliver, officiating. A private family burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
