Nicholas J. Garlando passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at age 67.
He was preceded in death by his mom Elizabeth Nancy Voulgares; his siblings Michael Garlando, Judy Garlando, Suzanne Garlando, Phillip Garlando, Chris Garlando; nephews Josh Garlando and Christopher Garlando; stepdad Nick Voulgares; and some dear old friends.
He is survived by his only child, Nicole Garlando and his siblings Shelly Garlando and Tom Garlando.
Born in Akron, Ohio he lived most of his life in Massillon and attended
Washington High School where he enjoyed welding and mechanics. There, he fell in love with Julie Earle and soon after graduating, became a dad. To Nicole, he was the very best dad he could be and a funny, brave, and caring friend - and now the forever winner of their running card game. He loved fishing and loved to be in nature. When he no longer hunted/trapped, he’d still go sit in the woods to watch the animals and be at peace. He
retired from Clarke Ceramics where he served as maintenance manager for decades. He was a kind caretaker for his mom and was a helper to many. He loved listening to music with the volume all the way up - Pink Floyd, The Scorpions, Chrissie Hynde, Tom Petty, Rage Against the Machine. He loved leaving little notes around and had a wicked sense of humor.
He loved with his whole heart and was loved in return, whole-heartedly. In accordance with his wishes there will be no service. A private ceremony will take place at a later date.
Celebrate him with your next coffee, smoke, card game, full moon, or sunny day. May he live on in our hearts and in the trees.
