Nevenka "Nena" Sekulic

Nevenka "Nena" Sekulic, born on December 2, 1955, in Borci, Maslovare Republika Srpska, former Yugoslavia, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, in Massillon, Ohio. 

Nena was cherished by her family and will be remembered for her warm smile and generous spirit.

Nena dedicated nearly 30 years of her life to the Sanitation Department at Heinz, where she earned affectionately the nickname "Smiley" due to her ever-present smile. Her positivity and friendly demeanor not only brightened the workplace but also touched the hearts of many who knew her.

In addition to her dedicated career, Nena had a wide array of hobbies that brought her joy. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and baking, often sharing her delicious creations with family and friends. Nena's love for life was also expressed through dance, particularly in performing the traditional Serbian Kolo. Most importantly, she treasured the moments spent with her granddaughters, Jovana and Anastasija Sekulic, who were a constant source of joy in her life.

Nena is survived by her devoted husband, Jovan Sekulic, and their sons, Dragan and Gligo. She is also survived by her sisters, Zdravka (Krsic) Sekulic, Gordana (Krsic) Stupar, and Ljubica Krsic Prasnjak, along with her brother, Branislav Krsic. Nena will be deeply missed by her granddaughters and many nieces and nephews, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and love.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Nedeljko and Cvijeta Krsic, and her brother, Djuro Krsic. Nena’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and enduring relationships. She will always be remembered for the light she brought into the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
