Nancy L. Campbell, 81, of Massillon, passed away June 7, 2026.
Nancy was born in Akron, OH on June 19, 1944, to the late Eber and Margaret Barringer. She was a 1962 graduate of Garfield High School, of Akron. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Akron. Nancy was very passionate about education; she was an English/Reading teacher at Indian River for 15 years, and was a substitute teacher at Jackson Local for six years. Nancy was also the President of the United Methodist Women at Firestone Park United Methodist Church. On July 18, 1964, Nancy married her high school sweetheart, the late Thomas “Al” Campbell, her husband of 55 years. Nancy was incredibly proud of her marriage to Al and their life together. Known for being inseparable, they are remembered for cooking large meals for their family and friends, and attending Al’s sporting events (as a coach’s wife). Together, they raised two children. Nancy was selfless, and dedicated, especially to her family, career, and church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nancy is survived by her loving daughter Lisa (John) Culp; grandchildren J.T. Culp, Amy (Jeremy) Sayre and Katey (Kevin) Alloway; great granddaughter Lorelei Sayre; daughter-in-law Patricia Conte; sisters Betty Nigh and Mary Smith. Nancy will also be missed by a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Al, Nancy is preceded in death by her son Patrick Campbell; her sister Peggy Compton; niece Rebecca Wilson; brothers-in-law Bill Nigh and Charles Smith.
Visitation will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 10am – 12pm at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd., Massillon, OH 44646, where funeral services will immediately follow at 12pm, Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Private interment for the family will follow.
