Mike Zelei, Jr.

Mike Zelei Jr. age 80 of Canton passed away Wednesday June 13, 2007 at Aultman Hospital. He was born August 8, 1926 in Massillon to the late Mike & Mary Takacs Zelei. He was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School and lived all of his life in the Canton-Massillon area. Mike served in the US Army in Germany and received an honorable discharge. He was a bricklayer by profession and a member of Bricklerlayers Local #6 in Canton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Zelei in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Irmajane (McDonald) Zelei of Canton and a sister Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Zelei of Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Canton. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 PM Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
