Michelle M. (Sosnowski) Deily, formerly Michelle M. Barnard, age 65, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on September 12, 2026.
Michelle was born on August 27, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and JoAnn (Goroncy) Sosnowski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Deily, and their two beloved dogs, Libby and Guy.
For more than 30 years, Michelle dedicated herself to serving the Plain Local School District, where she retired as a ninth-grade science teacher.
Michelle was a die-hard Clevelander and devoted Cleveland Guardians fan who took great pride in her love for her hometown. She was a talented seamstress and an exceptional cook and baker, with her cookies and Thanksgiving cooking being particular favorites among family and friends. Her cooking was one of the ways she showed her love, and everyone seemed to have a favorite: her burritos were a favorite of her daughter, while her son could never choose between her Swiss steak and Italian-style pork chops with spaghetti sauce.
Michelle was a devoted dog lover and cherished the companionship they brought to her life. She loved the simple pleasures of summer - sunbathing by the pool, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time at the camper at October Hill with her late husband, where she made some of her happiest memories.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Barnard of Akron, Ohio; her son, Zachary (Kara) Barnard of Canton, Ohio; her brother, Steven Sosnowski; her sister, Angela Ugran (Stephen Zetzer); her aunt, Ann (Dennis) Parrotta; her uncle, Joseph Sosnowski; her special cousin, Donald Zalewski; and her best friend, Merry Limpscomb, along with many other family members, friends, and colleagues who were cherished parts of her life.
There will be no public service. A private celebration of Michelle’s life will be held with family and close friends.
