Michael Alan Young, 75, of Massillon, passed away on July 22, 2026 after a short illness.
He was born on May 5, 1951 to the late Harrold Young and Ella "Allie" (Hayes) Define in Massillon, OH.
Michael worked as a Supervisor for Volvo White. He was a jack-of-all-trades and maintained a variety of jobs throughout his life, including being a handyman, building roads, dry-cleaning, working for Factory Tire, and cooking in numerous restaurants.
Michael served with the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 and served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded two Bronze Stars for his bravery and courage.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time at Myrtle Beach and in Crystal River, Florida. Michael was an excellent cook, always making sure Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners were taken care of. He loved dancing, especially with his wife, Michele, and karaoke with his children.
On December 24, 1986, he married Michele (Bonnell) Young. Michael and Michele lived in Massillon, Ohio and shared a loving family together.
He was a member of AmVets Post 12 and the VFW Post 3124.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Michele; son, George Young; step-daughter Valarie Cooper; sister, Darcy (Bill) Lindsey; brother-in-law Jim Aufderhaar; sisters-in-law Christina Cole, and Teresa Randolph; grandchildren Aliester, Andrew, and Lillian; his cat, Midnight, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Aufderhaar.
