Mary Lou Upton

Mary Lou Upton, 96, of Canton, passed away prayerfully and peacefully on March 22, 2026.

She was born on March 10, 1930 to the late Robb and Ruth (Allender) Martin in North Salem, OH.

Mary Lou graduated from Cambridge High School. She was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church. She worked for Nationwide Insurance in Claims for 11 years. She was a member of Ladies Shrine, Canton Women's Club. Mary Lou enjoyed gardening, bridge, traveling, and golfing. Mary Lou enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving children, William "Bill" (Joanne) Upton and Beth (Robert) Van Vooren; grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Kranz, Jared (Megan) Van Vooren, Jessica Van Vooren, Ian (Jeri) Upton, Andrew (Sarah) Upton, and Abigail (Scott) Trimborn; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ambrose, Roman, Bennett, Eleanor, Adalind, Lincoln, Landon, Annie, Lucia, and Taylor; brother, Harold Martin; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Upton.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, OH.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, 9:30 am at the Reedurban Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Guernsey County Memory Gardens, Cambridge, OH.

Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children's Hospital or The Canton Women's Club.
