Mary Margaret Schwab Longheier, age 97, of Massillon, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening with her family by her side.

She was born on April 27, 1928 at home in Bellaire, Ohio and was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Schwab. She was a graduate of Brewster High School.

After graduation, she worked in Massillon and met her future husband. The two owned and ran Duncan Jewelry Store. Mary was an avid golfer and volunteered for Affinity Medical Center until it closed. After covid, she volunteered at the Salvation Army. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge with her friends, reading, and crocheting. Mary loved to be the life of a party right up to the very end. She loved her grandchildren who referred to her as “Grandma Sweetheart”, and her great grandchildren who renamed her to “Great Grandma CooCoo Head”. She was a hoot and always had to have the last word right till the end.

Mary is survived by her son, John (Bonnie) Longheier and daughter, Vohn (Chris) Kolm, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Longheier, son Scott Longheier, and brothers Edward and Jack Schwab.

The family want to give a special thanks to the Amherst Meadow Assisted Living Staff & Crossroads Hospice.

Per her wishes no services will be held. She will be cremated & reunited with her husband at Calvery Cemetery.
