Mary H. Mowrer

Mary H. Mowrer, age 85 of Massillon, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born on September 23, 1922 in Durham, England and was the daughter of the late John & Mary (Charlton) Stephenson. She came to the United States as a war bride in 1945, locating in Wooster, Ohio before moving to Massillon where she spent the rest of her life. She retired from Superior Brand Meats following 31 years of service. Mary was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church and the Lady Lions. She is survived by her husband Robert F. Mowrer at the Landing of Canton; her daughter, Carol Ann Mowrer of the home; her brother, John R. Stephenson of Canton and her sister Audrey Jones of Coventry, England. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Wooster Cemetery with The Reverend Henry Harris officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 226 3rd Street S.E., Massillon, OH 44646.
