Marc R. Surmay

Marc Ronald Surmay, 56, of Sagamore Hills, passed away on August 7, 2025 at his home. He was born in Canton, Ohio on May 24, 1969 to Ronald J. and the late Judith A. {Marginean} Surmay.

Marc is survived by his loving father Ronald J. Surmay; brother, Ryan C. (Jennifer) Surmay; nephew Nathan P. Surmay.

Marc was a 1991 graduate of John Carroll University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in business. His passion for wrestling and camaraderie of his teammates carried him through his four years at school, and spawned lifelong friendships. Marc was also an entrepreneur, assisting clients with retirement and financial planning. He had a determination to continue on in any endeavor he began, and attributed his successes to the support of his family, who love him beyond measure.

Marc's family finds peace in the knowledge that he was welcomed into Heaven by the loving arms of his mom, Judith, and the loved ones who have gone before him.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family-St. Clement Parish 216 Wooster St. NE Navarre, OH 44662. Marc will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery, next to his mother, Judith. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marc's memory are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
