Lorraine M. Peters

Lorraine (Brown) Peters, a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26th, 2026 after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease.

Born on March 25th, 1958 in Massillon, Ohio. Lorraine was the cherished daughter of Wilbur and Eileen (Bresson) Brown. Her upbringing in Massillon laid the foundation for a life centered around family and community.

Lorraine was a graduate of Central Catholic High School Class of 1976. She devoted 25 years to Massillon City Schools and retired in March of 2025.

Family was at the heart of Lorraine's life. She was survived by her daughters, Jenna (Aaron) Robey and Kristen (Tim) Thomas; her siblings, John R. Brown, Marilyn (James) Choat, Marjorie (Jere) Maier, Michael (Jayne) Brown and Patricia (Randy) Schaller; she was an aunt to seven nieces and ten nephews and a wide circle of friends who became family. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Catherine (Edward) Kraft; and nephew, Thomas Schaller.

Lorraine had a zest for life that was evident to everyone she met. She spent countless cherished moments at the Ohio River and Salt Fork enjoying nature and camping with family and friends. Music was also a great source of joy for Lorraine. She loved attending live music events and dancing the night away, which was contagious to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Lorraine's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, who will carry her love and energy in their hearts forever. She will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Paquelet Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 12, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
