Listen to Obituary

Lloyd Forrer, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2025, surrounded by his family at the age of 80. Born on August 3, 1945, Lloyd led a life dedicated not only to his family but also to his lifelong career in heavy equipment operation.

For over 35 years, Lloyd was a valued employee at Wenger Excavating, where he showcased his exceptional skills and work ethic. His contributions to the field were marked by the respect he earned from colleagues and the community alike. After retiring, he devoted his time to cherishing moments with his family and friends, a testament to his warm and loving personality.

Lloyd attended Tuslaw High School. He was a man of many talents. There wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix. He enjoyed motorcycling and was a member of the 40+ International Riders. He was also a private pilot and received his instrument rating at Skypark in Wadsworth Ohio. Lloyd, Linda, and children flew their 182 Cessna airplane all over the U.S. Loving a challenge, he built a two place Kitfox airplane and flew it around Stark and Wayne county. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, taking them on many fishing and camping trips. Lloyd also received his lifetime membership award after 59 years in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Linda (Chaddock) Forrer, who stood by his side throughout their life together. Their union brought forth a family that Lloyd cherished deeply, including his son, Steve (Grace) Forrer, and daughter, Diane (Scott) Pattie. Lloyd will also be remembered by his sister, Judith (Henry) Veal, his brother, Ronald Forrer, sister-in-law, Cynthia King; and brothers-in-law Gary Chaddock and Mark Chaddock. The joy of Lloyd’s life was enriched by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who were a source of pride and happiness for him.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Harry Forrer, his mother, Edith Forrer, and his brothers James Forrer and Edwin Forrer. Though he is gone, Lloyd’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Lloyd Forrer will forever be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Medical Mercy Hospice team for their exceptional support.
