Linda Sue (Donavan) Sorge

Devoted partner, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many passed away at home on a sunny day at 5 p.m. on August 31, 2026 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born in Newark, Ohio on February 24, 1946 to father Robert Donavan and mother Mary Elizabeth(McDaniel) Donavan.

Linda, while still in high school, moved with her family to Canton Ohio and graduated Perry High School in 1964 then went on to work at Nationwide Insurance until she had her first child . She stopped working to raise her children, then baby sat many children until later years when she found work at JCPenny, EB Brown, and then retired from Ed Smith Insurance Agency to take care of her aisling husband James Sorge who passed away in 2013.

She loved to crochet, needlepoint, and was an avid online shopper! As well as gardening, mowing, washing her cars. She took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always being there for them. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family and her dog Zoe.

Proceeded in death by her parents, James Sorge(Spouse), Michele Sorge(daughter in law), Jason Leisure(grandson), dog Cassie and great friend Wand Furden.

Survived by her loving family are Bill Cooperrider, her partner and caregiver. Her children are Troy Sorge, Jaime Remaley (John). Brothers Phil Donavan(Diana) and Doug Donavan(Sue). Step daughters Marie McDonald, Annette Mouton, Dee Wilcox and Gina Daniels. Grandchildren Nathan Sorge(Liz), Dustin Sorge, Lance Smith(Autumn), Logan Smith(Heather), Josh Daniels(Candice), Shawn Daniels, Michael Naus, Michelle Naus, Tiffany Snyder and Jacob Leisure. Great grandchildren Emma Sorge, Josie Smith, Wrenley Smith and numerous others, including nephews and nieces. Special thanks to Grace Wackerly, her next door neighbor and friend as well as her prior co-worker and friend Stacey.
