Letha Mitchell

Letha Mitchell, born on November 13, 1940, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026 at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, OH after a lengthy illness.

Letha will be remembered as someone who loved her family and friends. Her life was marked by the care and affection she shared with those around her, and her memory will remain with all who knew her. Letha Mitchell was a proud member of Friendship Baptist Church where she ushered. She was also known to babysit for many years for many families and friends which exemplified her as a pillar to her community.

She is survived by her sons, Jorge Levitt of Massillon, OH, and Tyrone Pruitt of Columbus, OH; grandson, Tycie Pruitt of Massillon, OH; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who all carry forward her memory with love.

Letha was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Mitchell, and her father, Willie Mitchell; brother, George Mitchell of Pittsburg, PA; sisters, Ollie Springer of Cleveland, OH, Levia Patternson of Boston, MA, Willie McPhereson of Massillon, OH, Allie Stephens of Massillon, OH, Nesola Brantley of Canton, OH.

Letha Mitchell will be remembered with love and respect, and her presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

All are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646. Letha Mitchell will be laid to rest at Massillon Cemetery on November 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
