Laurie A. Salopek, born August 22, 1960, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2026. She was a cherished member of the community and a devoted soul whose warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Fairless High School, Laurie dedicated much of her professional life as an Administrative Assistant in the Human Resources Department for Marathon. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her dedication to her family and her church community. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Navarre, Ohio, where she shared many meaningful moments with fellow congregants.
Laurie was a woman of many interests and passions. She found joy in music, cooking, and was well known for her playful spirit—enjoying playing pool, cards, and lighthearted pranks on her family. One of her happiest escapes was taking trips to Virginia Beach, a place she loved for its beauty and tranquility.
Above all, Laurie loved her family deeply. She treasured her time spent with her grandchildren, finding immense joy and love in their company. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Thomas Salopek; son, TJ (Caitlin) Salopek; daughter, Lauren (Tom) Lewis; brother Don Stantz; and her grandchildren Harper Salopek, Claire Lewis, and Cora Lewis. Laurie's memory also honors the lives of her late brothers Jack and Bob Stantz, and her parents Jack and Norma Stantz.
Laurie A. Salopek’s legacy is one woven with love, laughter, and a profound sense of family. Her generous heart and joyous spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. She will be remembered not only for her warmth and humor but also for the deep and lasting impact she made on the lives she touched
