Larry “Wayne” Shank went home to be with the Lord on January 9, 2026.
Wayne resided in Navarre, Ohio for 25 years. He was born on May 24, 1950, in Wooster, Ohio. Wayne was the beloved son of the late Lewis and Ruth Shank, and the loving husband of Cindy, whom he married in 1991.
Wayne leaves behind two daughters, Lori (Mike) Sigler and Amy (Jeff) Watson.
He was the grandfather of Becca, Jordan, and Grady Sigler and Alice and Silas Watson. He was the brother of Don Shank (deceased) and sister, Marilyn Stull.
Wayne attended Northwestern High School and graduated in 1968. He served in the United States Navy, where he dedicated 23 years of service as a First-Class Petty Officer before retiring in 2000. Outside of his military career, Wayne enjoyed hobbies, such as softball, golf, and bowling. He was a member of St. James Crossroads Church, the American Legion #221, VFW #5047 and FOE Eagles #190.
He fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has kept the faith. Because of his faith in Jesus, he is in no more pain and is experiencing the joy of the Lord!
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 5 – 7 PM at Paquelet funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646, where funeral services will follow on Thursday, January 15, 2026, 10:30 AM. Pastor William Andrick officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery; procession to the cemetery will depart promptly at 1 PM from Paquelet Funeral Home.
