Larry "Hop" Jenkins

Larry "Hop" Jenkins, 77 of Massillon, died May 16, 2026, following an extended illness.

Larry was born on May 24, 1948, in Massillon, to the late William and Catherine Jenkins. Larry graduated from Tuslaw High School in 1967 before working at Superior's Brand Meats and retiring from Schantz Organ Company in Orrville.

Larry "Hop" was very active in sports during high school where he earned 10 varsity letters. Hop was proud he had one record still standing - A 98 yard kickoff return. Larry also volunteered for many years coaching little league. He loved attending sporting events. Through the years, he had memberships with Rivertree Jackson Church, Tuslaw Booster Club, Massillon Booster Club, and the NRA. Other hobbies included loving to go fishing and hunting, and he enjoyed the many trips he took to Canada with his family.

On June 28, 1969, Hop married Nancy Gray. Hop and Nancy have been married for 56 years. During those years they lived in the Tuslaw and Massillon Communities.

Hop is survived by and was very proud of his 3 Children and 7 Grandchildren. Daughter, Julie (Kent) Finefrock; sons, Chad (Tracy) Jenkins, and Todd (Krysten) Jenkins; grandchildren, Darren and Derrek Finefrock, Blake and Brock Jenkins, and Noah, Abby, and Grace Jenkins; sisters, Judy Brillhart, Sauney Cox, and Gale (Hank) Heuser.

He is preceded in death by his son, Craig Matthew; parents, William and Catherine Jenkins; brothers, William "Bill" and Jim Jenkins; sister, Joyce Gotch.

Services will be held at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home located at 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH, 44646. Visitation will be held May 21, 2026 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a service immediately following at 11 a.m. Larry "Hop" Jenkins will be laid to rest at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon, Ohio.
