Kenneth L. Smith, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and dedicated veteran, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 27, 1949, in Massillon, Ohio, Kenneth lived a life that was marked by his unwavering commitment to family, service, and work.
Kenneth enjoyed a lengthy and fulfilling career with Republic Steel, contributing to the community and embodying the strong work ethic for which Ohio is renowned. His dedication extended beyond his professional life as he proudly served in the United States Army, reflecting his deep sense of duty and patriotism.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jan Smith, who was a constant source of love and support throughout their years together. Kenneth is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Cheryl Katz, and his brother, Kevin Smith, both of whom cherish the fond memories of their time together. His family extends to include stepson Keith Valentine, aunt Lo Smith, uncle Gene Smith, as well as a host of nieces and nephews; Heather Katz, Jason Smith, and Brooke Moore, each of whom carries a piece of his legacy in their hearts.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Smith, Sr., and his mother, Shirley Smith, both of whom nurtured his growth and instilled in him profound values. We also mourn the loss of his step-sons, William Valentine and Dennis Valentine, niece Heidi Brahm, and cousin, Becky Smith who were integral parts of his life.
