Kay Ann Orr, 76, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted companion to her four-legged family, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of strength that will be felt in the hearts of all who knew her.
Kay was the kind of woman whose home was always full - full of chatter, and full of the happy shuffle of paws. She had a sassy wit and a sharp sense of humor that kept everyone around her on their toes and smiling. Her dogs; Bunny, Pumpkin, Charlie, and Zoe were her constant companions and brought her immeasurable joy. To know Kay was to know that she gave her love to the special people in her life and to the animals in her care.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester Orr.
She is survived by her sons, Matt Orr and Luke Orr, wife, Jenna; her daughter, Leslie Laverty; eight grandchildren: Ryder, Rueger, Lilly, Tyler, Leo, and Shelby Orr, and Alli and Charlie Laverty; and her siblings, Gordon Weirich and Sharon Markoski.
Kay's grandchildren knew her as someone who made them feel seen and cared for at home. The bond she shared with each of them was its own unique and irreplaceable thing.
Kay retired from Heinz Food in Massillon, Ohio, where she was a dedicated and hardworking member of the team for many years.
In her free time, Kay could often be found with a cup of coffee working through a crossword puzzle, rewatching a favorite movie for what may have been the hundredth time, or treating herself - and her beloved pups - to a trip to Dairy Queen. She never met a sweet treat she didn't love, and she made even the simplest moments feel like a little celebration.
She will be deeply missed, and dearly remembered.
"The love we give away is the only love we keep."
