Katina "Tina" C Spells

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Katina “Tina” C Spells, who departed this life on August 9, 2026, at the age of 42. Tina was born on December 11, 1983, a day that marked the beginning of a journey filled with warmth, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her loved ones.

Tina has spent a great amount of her life as a caregiver for those with special needs. She spent the last year as a manager with KFC.

Tina’s love is survived by her sunshine, pride and joy, granddaughter Opal Gurule, who brought her much pride and happiness; and beloved children: her daughters Trinity (Nick) Moore, Jayla Harvey, Bresia "Bre" Harvey; sons Jaid'yn Spells and Jacyn "Na" Harvey. Her family circle also includes her sisters, Kristy (Michael) Martin, Shana Thompson, Monica Moore, Ashley Jackson, and Karen Smith; her brothers, Rico (Danielle) Spells, III and Joey Spells; and her loving mother and step-father, Kathy and Scott Brown. She is also survived by her special companion, Jacyn Harvey; special friends, Nikki Shockling, Ronesha Hampton, Casheena Williams, Candy Lunsford, and a host of nieces and nephews. Each one was precious to Tina, and her caring spirit touched their lives deeply.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Spells, Jr.; beloved son, Elyjah Moore; mother-in-law, Starlita Harvey; grandparents, Tom (Sherry) Burnbrier, Betty Grier, and James and Dora Brown; and special friends, Tera Mobley, Shannon Britton. Their memories were always held close in Tina’s heart.

Tina was a beautiful person inside and out. She always brought sunshine and laughter into a room. A very hard worker with a strong faith in the Lord, being baptized at 11 years old. Everyone she met loved her. To her family and friends, just know that "Jesus took the wheel" in her life and her passing. You will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held on August 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, located at 1100 Wales Rd NE in Massillon, Ohio. This will be followed by the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the same location. Following these, a graveside service will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens located at 3655 Wales Rd. NW, Massillon, OH 44646.
