Karen Ann Houchins

Karen Ann Houchins, 77, of Massillon, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026 at home.

She was born on September 9, 1948 to the late Frederick and Kaye (McKee) Bonk in Massillon, OH.

A graduate of Central Catholic High School and Kent State University, Karen retired from Massillon City Schools in 2004, where she taught Kindergarten. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Massillon and formerly the Womens Club of Massillon.Karen loved to travel,spending time in Mexico and Florida. She loved to cook and entertain. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her loving husband Robert Houchins; children Trevor (Carrie) Paisley and Melissa (Brenden) Ryan; grandchildren Alyssa Coe, Zachery Amos, Dusten Amos, and Will Paisley; great-grandchildren Sophia, Stevie, Shanie, and Josie; sister Kathy Jevec; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Veronica and Christine.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, with a memorial service to begin at 7:00pm, with Pastor Roger Seibert, officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Central Presbyterian Church, Massillon.
