Joseph "Billy" William Martin Jr.

Joseph W. Martin Jr., “Billy”, age 72, passed away October 3, 2026 after a short illness.

Billy was born on October 16, 1953, in Massillon, OH, to the late Joseph Martin Sr. and Willa Brown.

Billy retired as an electrician from IBEW #540 (International) in 2012. He later enjoyed a second retirement J & L Steel. He was a life long member of Shiloh Baptist Church, ELKs #632, and the Local #540.

Billy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl Martin; daughter Nicole (Preston) Martin; son William (Lisa) Martin; son Joshawn (Ashton) Martin; sisters Regina Willis, Denise Mitchell and Brigid Anderson; grandchildren Cory, Craig, Morgan, Kali, and Jiahana; great grandson Kyler. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his brother Stevie Brown and his sister, Jacci Earley.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11 AM – 12 PM, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1111 3rd St. SE, Massillon, OH, 44646, where funeral services will promptly begin at 12 PM.
