John Mark Fabianich, Sr., 77, of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 following a brief illness. John was born in Canton, Ohio on August 31, 1947 the son of the late George and Sarah Fabianich.
He graduated from Washington High School and went on to serve in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. He served two tours in Vietnam and as an instructor. After returning home to Massillon he worked for the Massillon Street Department as a truck driver, snow plow operator and brick layer for 31 years. He volunteered many years with the Vietnam Veterans Chapter in Massillon, Ohio. He loved fishing, boating and anything that included spending time with his wife, Becky Fabianich and family. He was a fun and light hearted man, who loved making people laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Fabianich with whom he shared 37 years of marriage; children, John (Lynett) Fabianich McClay, II, and Jennifer (Brian) Lautzenheiser; grandchildren, Payton Lautzenheiser, Heath Lautzenheiser, Robert Dillon, III, John 'Tripp' Fabianich, III, Carter Dillon; sister, Lucy Fabianich; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Fabianich, and Paul Fabianich, and his sister, Julia Fabianich.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hanover House and Elara Caring Hospice for their compassion and care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Paquelet Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. A Celebration of John's life will follow at 7 p.m., with Military Honors.
