John C. Dottavio Jr.

John C. Dottavio "JR" went to his heavenly home on July 2nd after 88 years of living life to the fullest.  He was born August 8, 1937 in Massillon to John and Hazel Dottavio.  A graduate of Washington High School, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Bamberg, Germany.  It was there he met his wife of 67 years, Elisabeth (Elsie).  Together they raised 4 children ~ Debbie (Dan) Adkins, Lisa Schauer, Linda Macy, Jim (Deb) Dottavio, and welcomed 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

John retired as a mechanical engineer from the Timken Company, and lent his handyman skills to those who needed them.  He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he gave his time. 

John will be missed by his surviving siblings - Chuck, Barb, and Alex, as well as the many friends from the clubs he frequented.  

His family wishes to thank the caregivers who assisted throughout his hospital and rehab stays this past year.  

Calling hours will be held at Paquelet Funeral Home on July 17th from 5:30-7:00 p.m.  A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Massillon, on July 18th at 11:00 a.m., with Father John E. Sheridan presiding.
