Joanne E. Sopp

Joanne E. Sopp, age 88, of Massillon, passed away August 20, 2022. She was born September 2, 1933, in Massillon to the late Raymond and Delpha (Sprunger) Flickenger. She was a proud graduate of Washington High School where she was a cheerleader. Joanne was also a former member of Canton Baptist Temple. One of her favorite hobbies was gardening and growing beautiful flowers for all to enjoy. Above all, Joanne was a devoted mother and a loving grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Joel (Katie) Sopp and Samuel (Diane) Sopp; Grandchildren, Nathan Sopp, Sam (Michelle) Sopp, Jr., Steven (Jessy) Sopp, and Nicole Sopp; and great-grandchildren, Lennox and Rylie Sopp. In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Knouff, Jean Flickenger and Raymond Flickenger; as well as her former husband, Vernon S. Sopp. Private services will be held at a later date for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanne’s memory to, The Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio, 150 W.S. Boundary, PMB #202, Perrysburg, OH 43551 in Joanne’s memory.
