Joann Patterson

Joann Patterson born September 12, 1943 Passed away on Nov 28th 2025 unexpectedly.

She was a member of the House of the Lord for years, and attended the Gate of Heaven Church.

She was born in Birmingham, Alabama and was a graduate of Washington High School in Massillon.

She was employed by Massillon State Hospital. She also was a foster mother for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Callie Arrington and Eulic Smith Sr; her brothers Eulic Smith Jr, Leroy Smith Sr, William Catlin, Larry Arrington, and her sister Mary Lou Robinson.

Survivors include sister Mary (Scott) Christian, sisters in law Fannie Smith, Wilma (Paul) Benefield, and Ruby Smith; and her children Crystal Patterson, Eulic James Patterson, Michelle Patterson, Patty Royer, Lazarus McRae, and Wincent Dixon.

Joann also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and special cousins Maimie Jo and William Smith.

Joann was loved and cherished by those who knew her. She loved the Lord and expressed it in her everyday life.

A visitation will be held at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on December 9th from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a service starting at 12:00 PM. Joann will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery following the services.
