Jeanne Marie Thomas
1931 - 2026
With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Jeanne M. Thomas on June 15, 2026.
The daughter of William and Marie Dreisig, Jeanne grew up in Cleveland with her siblings Bill and Don, and graduated from Notre Dame College in 1952 with a degree in Education. She enjoyed teaching Biology and Physical Education to high school and college students, as well as working in Public Relations for Notre Dame College.
She married her husband Joe in 1958 and became a full time mother and homemaker. For over 3 decades she diligently raised her six children with great love. Being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was a privilege and family was her greatest blessing and source of pride. Watching her children and grandchildren play tennis, basketball, baseball, hockey, softball, swim and cheer was her favorite pastime. She never missed a birthday, sacrament, graduation, or milestone event as these were cherished opportunities to share her love with family.
She was a loyal parishioner at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. A devout Catholic, faith was the foundation of her life. She lived her beliefs daily through prayer, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to God. Jeanne had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. She was known for her warm smile, sunshine personality, and genuine interest in others. She made friends everywhere she went and was often the last person to leave church long after mass had ended.
Her life was rich with purpose, love and faith. Her example will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Jeanne is survived by her children: John (Patti) Thomas, Bob (Teresa) Thomas, Dave (Jenny) Thomas, Joe Thomas, Marie (Scott) Morse, and Jim (Debra) Thomas; her grandchildren: Brandon, Alexa, Erika, Laurel, Brittany, Ashley, Louie, Kelsey, Maria, Joey, Danny, Emily, William, Caroline, Charlie, JP, Olivia, Sabrina, Michael, Lauren and Jac; and 11 great grandchildren.
