Jean Sampsel, 91, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2026. She was born on February 25, 1935 in Canal Fulton to the late Raymond W. Mattox Sr. and Alice V. Mattox (Gibbs).
She was sweet on her family like candy and enjoyed spending time with them. Jean always ensured the people around her knew how much she loved them and how proud she was of them. She will always be on our minds when watching a Cleveland baseball game or reading a good book. Her family will always cherish the memories they had with her.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Sampsel, William (Angela) Sampsel, and Richard P. Sampsel Jr.; brother, Thomas Mattox Sr., grandsons, Michael Sampsel, Dustin Kiefer, William Sampsel II, and Josh Sampsel; granddaughters, Jessica (Brandyn Workinger) Sampsel, and Haley Sampsel; and many other family members.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Peters, Judy Haiduc, and Virginia Warner; brothers, Raymond W Mattox Jr., and James "Jimmy" Mattox; and sons, Terry M. Sampsel, and Timothy A. Sampsel.
