Janice A. Searcy

Janice A. Searcy of North Canton, OH passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 87 at St. Luke Lutheran Community in North Canton. She was born on October 12, 1938, to Cleo and Arnold Groah in Toledo, OH. In 1958, she graduated from Libbey High School. On February 5, 1966, she married Howard S. Searcy. They were married for 55 years.

Janice worked at the Toledo Public Library in the catalog department and later worked at Kmart in Canton for several years. She also volunteered many times as a poll worker at local voting stations.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard; son Ralph Searcy; brother John Groah; and brothers-in-law Richard Cottrell, Jim Greenen, and Fred Hill.

Surviving is her son, Tom Searcy, of North Canton; daughter-in-law, Nancy Searcy of Sparks, NV; grandchildren Rebecca (Chris) Hopper; Nathaniel Searcy; and Bryan Searcy; and great-grandchildren: Suade, Baylen, and Lawson Hopper. Also surviving are her siblings, Arthur Groah of IL; Nancy Cottrell of FL, Mary Greenen of FL, and Jane Hill of Toledo, OH, and several nephews and nieces survive.

Janice will be laid to rest next to her husband, Howard Searcy in Newman Creek Cemetery, North Lawrence, OH.

There will be no services held.
